COMPETITIVE SOCCER

Our competitive travel program is designed to develop a player's skill set and passion for the game whilst also exposing players to a high level of competition. Teams participate in leagues and tournaments throughout the State of Florida and some will participate in National events. The goal is to create "Complete Soccer Players" by providing all the tools necessary to reach each player's full potential. All of our coaches are certified and licensed and have extensive playing experience at the collegiate and professional levels.

PLAYING PHILOSOPHY

A Jupiter United developed player is defined by their ability on the ball. JUSC players demonstrate excellent first touch and close control of the ball. They have the ability to dictate the tempo of a game with their individual actions with the ball at their feet. JUSC players are encouraged to be confident on the ball and attempt to win their 1v1 battles. We encourage flair and free thinking.
In possession we look to play through the thirds and switch the point of attack to create forward passing opportunities. From day one we encourage our teams to play out from the back and use our goalkeeper in possession.
Out of possession JUSC teams are compact and organised. Our forwards press from the front to encourage mistakes and our defenders are patient in timing their tackles.
Our teams are not restricted to one or two systems of play. We pick formations based on the strengths of the individuals in our teams. We also adapt our shape and game day approach to offer the maximum chance of success against each opponent we face.

coaching methodology

At JUSC our coaches structure their training sessions with the goal of maximizing individual touches in game related practices. In order to improve technique, players need to constantly repeat the same movements or skills. High volume of ball contact is key. Games provide very limited technical benefits since players don’t get many touches of the ball. When you have 14, 18 or 22 players sharing one ball, each player only gets on average 20-40 ball touches per game. To that end, how can a player expect to improve technically if all they do at practice is play full sided games?
JUSC players can expect to receive upwards of 2000 touches of the ball per week. This focus on technical development creates stronger ability players who in turn can train at a higher level and be challenged with more advanced tactical concepts.

training

The Jupiter United soccer season commences in early August and runs until May.
All teams train for 90 minutes, three times per week. Typically our younger teams (U8-U12) will train from 6:00-7:30 and our older teams (U13+) from 7:30-9:00. JUSC holds exclusive rights to train at the facilities listed here.
Each team’s training schedule will be determined and communicated over the summer. We will always do our best to accommodate any scheduling requests but please understand this is not always possible.
There will be no club training during the winter holiday period. There will also be no training during spring break and Easter unless otherwise specified by your respective coach. This is the same for national holidays such as Labor day and Columbus day.

games

JUSC teams play a combination of league and tournament games during the soccer season.
Teams will enter into a Fall season that runs from September to November and then a Spring season lasting from February to April. The cost to enter into these leagues is included in your registration fee.
Half of all league games will be played at Jupiter Community Park which are our home fields. The travel distance for your away games is determined by the league in which your team competes in. Most league games are contested in Palm Beach, Martin, Broward or Miami-Dade County.

Teams will also enter into several tournaments throughout the season. The cost to enter 4 of these tournaments is again included in your registration fee. Typically 2 of these tournaments will be local and 2 of them will require overnight stays in locations such as Sarasota, Orlando etc. Teams have the option to enter more than 4 tournaments.

On average, players can expect to play 1 game per weekend over the course of the season.
